Privacy Policy

Effective 31 August 2026

UnMiss is built to hold things you saved for later, not to hold data about you. This page explains, in plain language, what the app touches and what it does not.

Data controller

The data controller is Salvatore Castellitti, an Italian sole proprietorship, VAT no. IT01945740700. For anything in this policy, write to s.castellitti.dev@gmail.com.

No account

There is nothing to sign up for. The app generates a random identifier on your device, used only to recognise your purchases and to apply fair-use limits. It is not linked to your name, email or any other profile.

Your shelf stays on your device

The items you keep, including notes and statuses, are stored locally on your iPhone. If you enable backup, a snapshot is written to your own private iCloud storage, readable only by your Apple account. We cannot see it.

What leaves your device

When you share a post to UnMiss, the link and its public preview are sent to our server so the film, series or book behind it can be identified. To do this we use third-party services: an AI model for identification, TheTVDB for film and series metadata, and Google Books for book metadata. We keep minimal usage counts to run the fair-use metering; we do not build a profile of what you watch or read.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check subscription status; RevenueCat receives the anonymous identifier described above, never your personal details.

What we never do

Your rights

Deleting the app deletes your shelf from the device. You can remove the iCloud backup from iOS Settings under your iCloud storage. For anything else, including questions under the GDPR, write to s.castellitti.dev@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version will be published here with an updated date.
