How to keep track of movie recommendations from friends
The algorithm knows your taste, but your friends know you, and their recommendations arrive through the worst possible channel: a text saying "watch this and call me", a title shouted over dinner, a voice note with three films in it. You say "adding it to the list". There is no list.
Friend recommendations deserve better infrastructure than your memory. Here is a system that survives the way they actually arrive.
Why friend recs die, and what they need
A chat message is a moving target: pinned today, buried under logistics by Thursday. The dinner-table title has it worse, entrusted to memory mid-conversation, and the phrase "wait, who recommended this?" marks its grave. What a rec needs to survive is capture at the moment of arrival, plus one crucial extra: who it came from, because "she said it would wreck me" is half the reason you will press play.
The capture also has to be as fast as the conversation, or it will not happen. Two seconds, no app-switching ceremony, back to the chat before the next message lands.
